Head Coach and Vice President: Martin Gallant

Martin (Marty) Gallant will be in his second year with the Kelowna Jays however first as their head coach. Martin having been involved in baseball since the age if 4 was the 1st base coach for the 2011 Jays.
Having played all of his baseball in the east coast, Marty was a valuable pitcher and 3rd baseman having played on 3 provincial championship winning teams in New Brunswick. Having also represented New Brunswick at Canadian Baseball Championships as a coach and a player on several occasions, Marty will bring some leadership and some experience to the Jays team and is hoping to be able to guide the Jays to a 3rd straight Junior Provincial title. Martin is also the president of the Kelowna Minor Baseball Association since 2010.
Assistant Coach: Jared Johnson (JJ)
Previously was the pitching coach for the Kelowna Falcons of the West Coast League. Coach Johnson was drafted out of high school by the Florida Marlins. He would move to Central Arizona College where he would be drafted again by the Marlins. Johnson transferred to Benedictine College (NAIA) where he completed his degree.
In 2011, Jared was selected to play on Team Canada at the World Baseball Challenge. “JJ” was a great addition to the team by playing short stop for all 12 games and ended up hitting 2 home runs. Jared will bring much value to the coaching staff not only as a leader but also as a on field leader as Jared will be a player coach. Since the start of the Okanagan Baseball College baseball team Jared has been the pitching coach and has provided the Coyotes with some strong guidance. Jared was also a member of team British Columbia that represented our province at the 2011 Canadian Senior Mens championships held in Chatam NB in September 2011 that finished with the silver medal.
The WCA Jays provide a quality, competitive summer baseball environment for young men wanting to further develop their skills before entering or returning to college in the fall.
The WCA Jays are the defending 2010 and 2011 BC Junior Champions and also compete in BC Senior Championships and the Pacific International League which includes two of the top semi-pro teams in the U.S., the Seattle Studs and Everett Merchants. Jays also host the largest money tournament (16 teams) in Canada and the Pacific Northwest.
